Sasha Chapek

Sasha Chapek’s paintings explore the struggles and celebrations in life,and the concepts of growth and decay using images and iconography inluenced by personal tragedies and triumphs.

Chapek earned her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Painting from the University of Kansas in 2002, studied printmaking in Florence, Italy, at Santa Repartata International School of Art, and earned her Master of Social Work from
Wichita State University in 2005.

You are invited to attend Cobalt’s Artist Reception on March 18, 2010, 6-8pm.

Happy New Year!

This year went fast for Cobalt Gallery!  We are grateful to the Newton, KS area that we are still here to tell about it!  AND… we are already booked with shows through December 2010! 

So now that we’re not flying by the seat of our pants every month, this opens up room for fine tuning…  What are your thoughts about a gallery/music crawl in Newton?  Does the Third Thursday opening schedule work okay with other community schedules?  Have any ideas?  Let us know!
